Boasting a prime location loftily perched on a cliff overlooking a glistening bay far below, the inspiration behind the name is obvious. Fresh from its completion this spring (by construction firm Grupo Ferrá), Cloud is the largest development in the Cala Llamp area – and inevitably one that will draw no shortage of superlatives.
Originally three plots, the size alone is remarkable by most standards, with the three-building property covering an area of over 2,500 square metres. The main residence – MyCloud – extends over three levels, with extensive living spaces that include a vast double-height lounge and grand sweeping terrace. MyCloud offers six bedrooms, four of which are on the top floor, each with an ensuite bathroom with panoramic windows that take full advantage of the genuinely stunning sea views.
Next along is GuestCloud, an independent house within Cloud which offers guests the appropriate level of privacy from the main residence. The top floor offers two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, while the terrace level opens up to incorporate a dining and lounge area with an open-plan kitchen.
The third building is all about fun, leisure, and socialising. ChillCloud is spread over two levels and features high-end spa and fitness facilities, plus there’s an exterior kitchen with top-end barbecue perfect for enjoying meals with friends.
The principle linking element of all three buildings is the architecture, which juxtaposes light and contemporary styling with traditional natural stone walls and heavy timber beams. Developers Domus Vivendi have refreshingly veered away from the familiar white box aesthetic for something with more character, and even a touch of Mallorcan identity.
The three buildings are also connected by a 28-metre long saltwater infinity pool, one end of which is a waterfall cascading from tall natural rock, and the other a secluded Jacuzzi that makes the perfect spot for romantic sunset soaking.
Interior design and decor was provided by Mallorca-based Terraza Balear, who have chosen a warm and earthy palette combined with clean lines and a light, airy quality. An aquarium makes up part of the kitchen cooking island – a great original touch – while a specially curated collection paintings and sculptures add splashes of colour and personality.
Flourishes of flora have also been tastefully incorporated into the property, with long terraces interwoven with pink bougainvillea and lush vertical gardens featured in various social spaces; in the entrance of the main house grows an olive tree.
A collaboration of some of the top names in construction, architecture, and interior design, (and available for sale through Engel & Völkers) the results are predictably impressive. The eye-watering price tag is equally inevitable for such a high-spec, high-tech property, but it’s no exaggeration to say few places on the island reach the dizzy heights of Cloud.
